Most of the rugs we collect from Palo Alto are hand-knotted. That isn’t an accident. Between the houses along Cowper and Melville in Old Palo Alto, the professors’ libraries near the Stanford campus, and the post-war bungalows of Crescent Park and Professorville, this part of the Peninsula holds an unusual density of Persian Sarouks, Tabriz medallions, Qum silks and 1950s Navajo weavings — often inherited, always loved.
We collect Peninsula rugs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Our Newark atelier is about 18 miles south via 84 and 101 — roughly 22 minutes on a clear run. Your rug is picked up, washed, and returned by our own team — never a common carrier.
