ABC Decorative Rugs is the Bay Area’s third-generation atelier for cleaning, repairing, appraising and protecting decorative rugs — not selling them. The single-discipline focus is the point.
A different kind of decorative rug company
Forty-seven years. Zero rugs sold.
Most companies that touch decorative rugs in the Bay Area sell them. We don’t. The Karimi family has run a single-discipline atelier in Newark since 1978: clean it, repair it, appraise it, store it, protect it. That’s it. The clarity of focus is the work.
It means we have no incentive to talk you into a new rug. It means our masters spend forty hours a week on washing and reweaving instead of selling. It means we can give you an honest assessment of whether your rug is worth restoring, and refer you to a trade dealer if it isn’t. Most of the time it is.
